The school
The focus of the school is to teach you well Spanish and let you enjoy a wonderful vacation or start of a longer trip at the most beautiful country in Latin America: Costa Rica! The school has good teachers and friendly staff focused on giving you a wonderful time.
Every class-package contains a package of free activities. These activities facilitate the contact with fellow students and the local inhabitants.
The Spanish classes are given in a Caribbean village named Puerto Viejo de Talamanca. The school is located at 200 meter from the beach and right in the center of Puerto Viejo with many restaurants and bars at walking distance. The lush tropical garden has different fruit trees and hammocks between the palm trees: an ideal place to study or relax after classes. We have a Wi-Fi internet connection for free in the school.

Spanish classes
We offer different options: You can study in groups of 3 to 5 students for 4 hours per day, have classes with a fellow student for 3 hours per day or have private classes of 3 hours per day. In case of private classes every amount of hours of tuition per day can be booked. For the quickest result we advise you to take private classes. The teacher will focus only on you and offer new grammar when you are up to it. Only you are triggered to speak! If you sign up with a friend of the same level of Spanish you can study together as well.
You’ll receive a grammar and exercise book free of charge and an intake test to find out your level of Spanish in case of group classes.
Group classes are held from 09.00 to 13.00 or from 14.00 to 18.00. Private classes or 2 persons studying together are from 09.00 to 12.00 or from 14.00 to 17.00. Mid morning and afternoon we have a coffee / tea break of 15 minutes. 1 class hour = 55 minutes.

Accommodation options
You can choose to stay in one of our school residences or you can choose to live with a local family.
Residences: The cheapest option is our mixed dorm with five beds, bathroom and terrace with fridge, TV and hammock. An ideal place to relax! You can also stay in a single- or double room with shared or private bathroom. If you travel alone and like to share a room you can book a double room as well. We only place people with the same gender in a double room. The residences have a nice living area, a big modern kitchen witch you can use and a terrace.

Guest family: Looking for Spanish immersion? Stay with a guest family where you have more opportunities to practice your Spanish. You will have a modest single room, use the bathroom with the rest of the family and have two meals per day: breakfast and dinner. Breakfast you will enjoy with the family and dinner you will have in the vegetarian restaurant of the family. The food offered is superb!

All accommodation is standard from Saturday before your Spanish classes till Saturday after classes. Arriving a day earlier or later can be arranged, just ask us.
The big and well equipped kitchen in the school can be used by everyone.

Friday evening the school offers the students a BBQ; it is part of the daily activities. The other meals are most of the time cooked together among the students or they enjoy having dinner in one of the local restaurants.

Afternoon activities
The following, free and not obligatory activities, are offered every week:
For the active-ones: daily ‘wake-up aerobics’ on the beach: running, exercising and / or a refreshing
dip in the sea, the ideal start for studying!
Monday evening: workshop massage
Tuesday: jungle walk. We have different walking tours: walk in the hills behind Puerto Viejo, along the jungle-path to Cocles, along a river or along the beach to see the sun set.
Wednesday evening: Beach volleyball where local people participate too (Spanish immersion!)
Thursday: Tutorial: if you need some more attention on a grammatical subject: a teacher is available to help you out.
Friday: We end the week with a BBQ. We provide food and students offer and prepare drinks (take your instrument if you play any).
Saturday: once in two weeks we bicycle to the National Park Manzanillo (16 kilometer). On the way we stop at Cocles and Punta Uva, the most beautiful beaches in the area and we go on to the park, late lunch at your own cost in Punta Uva on our way back.
The other Saturday we go to the National Park of Cahuita by bus and we will see two types of monkeys, sloths, huge tree iguanas, raccoons, crabs and sometimes snakes and armadillos. Late lunch at your own cost in Cahuita.

Spanish & Surf
We have made an interesting Surf Package containing 3 times per week surf classes of one and a half hour + board use for a complete week (7 days). Costs are $125 per week.

You can surf but does not want to take your board you can rent a board at the school for $12.50 per day, $75 per week and $130 per 2 weeks.

If you want to have your surf classes at the same days as your Spanish classes we can arrange that but you might miss some of the offered activities.
